Use this workflow when you want SecureAI to identify a part from a photo, compare visual differences between similar parts, or call out visible markings, connector types, and wear patterns.
When Image Upload Helps
Image upload works best when you need help with:
- Identifying an unknown part on the bench
- Comparing two similar-looking parts before ordering
- Reading stamped numbers, labels, or connector details
- Highlighting visible damage, corrosion, or missing hardware
Supported Image Types
For best compatibility, use common still-image formats:
- JPG / JPEG
- PNG
- WEBP
If your phone saves images in HEIC or another format and the upload does not work, export the image as JPG or PNG and retry.
Size Limits and Upload Tips
Upload limits can vary by workspace and browser session. If an image is rejected because it is too large or takes too long to process:
- Crop the image so the part fills most of the frame
- Export the photo as JPG to reduce file size
- Lower the image resolution before uploading
- Upload one clear image at a time instead of a large batch
If you need to show multiple angles, send separate images with a short note for each one, such as front view, connector close-up, or label.
Before You Upload
You will get better results if the image is prepared for inspection:
- Place the part on a plain background when possible
- Use bright, even lighting
- Keep the camera steady and avoid motion blur
- Fill the frame with the part instead of the surrounding bench
- Include labels, stamped numbers, connector pins, and mounting points
- Take an extra close-up if there is damage or corrosion you want reviewed
Upload an Image
- Open a new conversation or continue the conversation where you want to review the part.
- Click the upload or attachment control in the message composer.
- Select the image from your device.
- Wait for the image preview to appear in the conversation.
- Add a prompt that explains what SecureAI should look for.
- Send the message.
Write a Strong Prompt
Include as much useful context as you have:
- Vehicle year, make, model, and engine
- Part name, if you know it
- Where the part came from on the vehicle
- Any visible numbers or labels
- The exact question you want answered
Example Prompts
Identify this part and tell me what details in the photo support that conclusion. This came off a 2019 Ford F-150 5.0L. Can you help identify it and point out the connector type?Compare this brake pad shape to common aftermarket replacements and call out any visible wear.Read any markings visible in this image and tell me what they may mean for fitment.
Best Practices for Better Results
- Start with one task per prompt, such as identification, comparison, or damage review
- Upload a close-up and a wider shot if the part shape matters
- Mention whether you want likely matches, feature analysis, or help reading a label
- Add a part number if you already have one, even if it may be incomplete
- Verify final fitment against your catalog or manufacturer data before ordering
Common Issues
The Upload Fails
- Retry with a smaller image
- Convert the image to JPG or PNG
- Remove extra background by cropping tightly around the part
The Answer Is Too General
- Add vehicle and part context
- Ask a narrower question
- Upload a clearer close-up of the key feature or label
SecureAI Cannot Read the Marking
- Retake the photo with better lighting
- Move closer to the label or stamped number
- Avoid glare from flash or reflective surfaces
What to Expect
SecureAI can help you narrow down likely part identity, point out visible differences, and explain what it sees in the image. It should be used as a research and triage tool, not as the only source for final ordering or fitment decisions.
